Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia / Birdwatching

Just for your eyes.

Los Cauquenes Resort & Spa is located in Cauquen Bay, in a natural environment with a native forest growing along the coast till it meets Pipo River at a distance of 1000 mts. Many patagonic species and endemic plants like Carancas “Chloephage Hybrida” (1) and el Pato Vapor No Volador “Tachyeres Pteneres” (2) can be enjoyed.

Wide windows and a beatuiful deck with and a matchless “high” view, make an ideall place to look for pelagic birds on the Beagle Channel; it is also an strategic point to start visits to Isla de los Pajaros (Birds Island), Penguin Colony, Tierra del Fuego National Park, Fagnano Lake, etc...with ample opportunities to enjoy along the coast, at any time, an interesting list of birds of up to 40 species.

One day watching

The following list includes the species found in one day watching at Los Cauquenes Hotel in January 2008 (including Nothophagus forest and Beagle Channel beaches up to Pipo River), it is therefore expected to find an even richer variety of birds.
